Watching and reading the news the last couple of days has been heart wrenching. Two states, Tabasco and Chiapas have been inundated with rain, water is covering over 80% of the land. One million people are homeless, last night there were 300 000 people stranded on their roof tops in Villahermosa the capital city of Tabasco. People are swimming to get out of the city with nothing but the clothes they are wearing. Surrounded by water but nothing safe to drink or eat
You don't have to understand Spanish to understand this news report, the translated title is "With the Water up to the neck". This is a terrible disaster and will be a big test of how the government responds. Today the water had started to recede but more rain is expected in the next few days.
Help can be sent through the Mexican Red Cross (Cruz Roja) or UNICEF.

Horrific, and important for those of us outside of the area to become aware of and involved in.
Thank you for posting this.
JJ- It really is horrible to watch and yes, I hope those in a position to help reach out and donate to help these people who were already poor to begin with.
