Hangin' in the Park in Cancun

Ok, I thought I would make up for the nastiness of the last post and give you something nice and light. Nothing better than some pics of the park in the afternoon! Not much to say on this one, I'll let the photos do the talking. I hope they take the bad taste out of your mouth from the worm debacle (that taste might be in mine for a while though, blech). ***happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy thoughts***

The park was chock full of activity.....

Drummers Drumming
The drummers were very cool indeed, they are what drew us to the park to begin with. Not sure what they were rehearsing for, but we enjoyed their performance big time. Here's a super short video of Max doing his interpretative dance to their groovy beats.

Hope you enjoyed that more than the worms, though from some of your comments there are those of you who will be disappointed in the relatively benign photos.

It must be hard coded into our genes, because that is the same dance that my 4 year old does when the music moves him.

Dang! Video's not available... Cute pics of Max, and I love listening to the street drummers on Isla Mujeres - they make me shake my booty!

That is the bestest vid evar!!! Max has some serious interpretive dance skills going on there! Yowza!
Thanks for the smiles, chica and Max!!

I think Max has definately taken the dance gene from your side of the family he has some serious moves! I love the pics. You always take such nice ones...I am so relieved you are yourself once more.

I see some break dancing lessons in Max's future- he clearly has the knack for doing some of those moves where you go up on your hands! :)

Too cute!

Scott- Does your son like Lazytown? Max just wants to be like the character "Sportacus", that's where he picked up all those funky moves. :)

Joanne- Nothing like live drummers to get the body moving, reminds me of the good ole days of my dance training, jamming with the bongo players. Try the vid again, I'm not having any probs here!

Lisa- He got all those moves from me. And Sportacus. Glad he could make you smile, you wanna take him for a month or so? He's driving me NUTS today!

3ros- Thanks mami, yeah, all the good stuff comes from me, haha. Though Hubby toured Mexico as a professional folk dancer, so he's got it from both sides.

Mexpat- Now you've got Herbie Hancock running through my head (is that reference too obscure? lol). Breakin'! No head spins for a while though.

Guaya- Hi and welcome! I was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, but lived in Toronto from 1990 to 2003. Where are you from?

Very nice! Our condo is half a block from that park. And Cheester's Pasta is on that park, love that place! Yum!

I've been meaning to let you know that the play ground in the Parque Kabah has been improved. Max would like it. Park on the Nichupte side and it's not much walking to get to the play area.

Rivergirl- It's one of the better parks we have seen, I am glad to have stumbled on it from the lawyer's office across the street. I was curious about Cheester's, glad to have your go ahead to give it a try, looks and smells yum!

Lisa- MUA HAHAHAHA. That's my evil laugh. Be careful what you wish for, he's a handful! :)
