Hittin' the Road

We are off on a road trip/ferry trip/golf cart trek this weekend, caravaning with the fabulous BritFamily to Isla Holbox. I am really excited about this one, I have never visited Holbox before and can't wait to get some pics. It was difficult getting a hotel reservation last minute, but we pestered and we bothered until both families got reservations. We're at different hotels, but it's a teeny tiny island so I suspect we won't be too far from each other. We're making an early start tomorrow morning for the 2 1/2 hour drive to Chiquila and hope to be on the 11:30 ferry to the island. We've only got one night as we must work on Monday, but one night on a remote island is better than none, si?

Holbox is well known as a place for incredible bird watching, wish I had a camera with a better zoom! I'll do my best to capture some photos for you all, top of my wish list is flamingos and dolphins which purportedly live in abundance around the island. It's not quite whale shark season yet, but Holbox is THE place to swim with these giant creatures, I'm hoping to do that in the future, but we'll probably wait til Max is a bit older so he can truly enjoy the experience.

Here's a video of a whale shark experience, enjoy it until I return with my own Isla Holbox stories and pics.

Have a great weekend!
