The highlight of the snorkeling part of the day was chasing a HUGE, I mean giganto barracuda. When he turned around to chase me, I had a bit of a panic (silly girl), which you'll see in this video. I crack myself up every time I watch this, such an over reaction to a "little" fishy. Just because he's got a mouth full of teeth doesn't mean that I would be at all tasty to him. Does it?
So, happy birthday to Hubby, I hope you had as much fun as we did, we love you!

My friend, the other Kelly, also shot a video of a large barracuda on Sunday. She was next door at Garrafon Castillo. Wonder if it was the same one? If I say that while snorkeling, I would be screaming like a girl! Well, at least it would sound that way underwater!
LOVE the video! I snorkeled at Garrafon Castillo, and saw a huge grouper and several small barracuda. And a humongous green-and-red fat fish with big buck teeth -- I think it was some sort of parrotfish.
However, the coral is pretty banged up in that area.
Beautiful pics! I don't think that barracuda would bite a nice gal like you! My girlfriend went on that zip line 2 years ago .. and got stuck in the middle! So funny, the poor attendant had to get her.
Forgot to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jorge!
Oh my goodness, that close up of the fish banging into your lens make us all giggle over here!
Looks like you guys had a great day in an absolutely beautiful location! And Max seems to be quite the little snorkler!
Maybe we'll be joining you guys over there sooner than not! (If things work out the way were hoping... wink wink)
Great pics - and video!
I like your blog. I actually discovered it via your Vermox post of over a year ago, which came up when I googled "Vermox" and "Mexico" and "amoebas." Very useful. Thanks!
IslaGringo- I screamed like a girl too, well, at least a sharp intake of breath, lol! There are lots of barracuda out there, but have never heard of a barracuda attacking. I think we just get scared by their ugly maws!
Joy- Those bucktooth fish are awesome, and yes I believe they are parrotfish. Garrafon Castillo is a great spot for snorkeling!
KfromMichigan- I got stuck on the zip too, I didn't break in time, went zooming in to the dock and went flying back again, poor attendant! I love how they rescue, feet on the wire like monkeys. :)
Beth- Those little lens bangers were following me, it was weird! Ooooh, are you coming down for a visit or to stay? ;-)
Rose- I love that you found the blog while searching for some sort of "intestinal relief", teehee. Nice to "meet" you, hope to hear from you again! (And hope you won't really be needing the Vermox). :)
I took some Vemox Plus last night and I feel a bit better today, so I don't know. Could be a coincidence I suppose!
Kind of disconcerting, I remember when I was a child, my mother buying something with the same name I think (in Australia) for my dog....
Maybe both. A vacation is definitely in the works, and I've got a line on something more permanent in Ciudad del Carmen. :)
Kelly,
Nice to bump into you at Steve's Saturday afternoon. What kind of camera did you use for the video and underwater shots? Is it a enclosure for your digital or one of those new waterproof digital's?
Please wish hubby a happy birthday for us. Tom & Suzie
