I took a trip out to the hotel zone this morning to grab some photos and video of the ocean, I was hoping for some waves and got'em! I got kicked off the beach at Playa Delfines by Civil Protection, but snuck back in to a couple of different spots. I'm such a rebel.
And video from yesterday's flooding downtown....
And that's that. My thoughts go out to of all those in Central America who suffered much more than we did here (at least 42 dead in El Salvador) and I wish lots of luck to those still in Ida's path. For those of us in Cancun and the Riviera Maya, we're all good, we're done with Ida and hopefully done with hurricanes until next year.

Those waves are great. Glad you're all safe and sound.
Hey rebel!! I've been kicked out of there a few times as well... for sorta the same reasoning!" I remember my "first" hurricane... wow was I stupid! LOL!! I liked to call myself "the stupid canadian" - hehehe, aren't we all excited for our first?? LOL!! Great videos as always! I even told my parents to take a look!
Great videos .. I agree with loving to watch the rough water. Those waves .. wow! And those flooded streets, well I've been stranded several times in Centro. Glad you are all safe.
Really nice hurricane posting Kelly, Your pix's at Playa Delfines were excellent. When we got there at noonish Sunday it was much calmer. Nice youTube videos too. Thanks!
Gaelyn- Thanks amiga, all is well! Back to sunshine again. :)
On Mexican Time- Suuuure that's why you were kicked off the beach, LOL! "Stupid Canadian"? Nah, "Curious Canuck", much nicer way to phrase it. :)
KfromMichigan- You've seen Cancun's dirty underskirts, oops! Downtown after a rain is not quite like the paradise you see in the brochures, that's for sure.
Tom- Thanks, I saw that you made your way out there too, we must have just missed each other. Love the pics!
love your stormy sea pics... just being out there to take them must have been a religious experience!!
Minshap- It really is kind of religious, being so close to the power of nature, the smells, the feel of the wind, the sound of the waves, it's a full body experience for sure! Nice to see you amiga, hope things are well. :)
